*** The pin is sterling silver, which is a softer metal than stainless steel, making it more fragile/delicate. This is a normal characteristic of sterling silver and is not a defect. A positive is that while stainless steel is rigid and harder to manipulate, sterling silver can be gently manipulated and reformed. If you accidentally bend the bowknot post, gently straighten it (nylon pliers are an excellent tool for this)
